Because there are a massive quantity of suggestions that are outputted when a large number of explanatory variables are automatically generated, the burden of sorting the suggestions is heavy. A marketing assistance system comprises: a suggestion extraction unit for accepting purchase data and analyzing the correlation between the purchase data, thereby outputting a composite variable; a limiting filtering unit for accepting the composite variable and a limiting table and excluding the composite variable on the basis of the limiting condition defined by the limiting table; and a performance record filtering unit for estimating, using the performance record of measures defined in the past, an expected effect when a measure based on the composite variable is carried out, and sorting a plurality of the explanatory variables.
