Title (EN) METHOD FOR TREATMENT OF A CHROMIUM FINISH SURFACE
(FR) PROCÉDÉ DE TRAITEMENT D'UNE SURFACE DE FINITION AU CHROME
Abstract:
(EN) The present invention relates to a method for post-treatment of a chromium finish surface to improve corrosion resistance comprising a) providing a substrate having a chromium finish surface, and at least one intermediate layer between the chromium finish surface and the substrate, selected from the group consisting of nickel, nickel alloys, copper and copper alloys, wherein the chromium finish surface is a surface of a trivalent chromium plated layer, obtained by electroplating the substrate, having the at least one intermediate layer, in a plating bath, the plating bath comprising chromium (III) ions as a main chromium source; b) contacting the chromium finish surface with an aqueous solution, comprising a permanganate, at least one compound which is selected from a phosphorus-oxygen compound, a hydroxide, a nitrate, a borate, boric acid, a silicate, or a mixture of two or more of these compounds; c) forming a transparent corrosion protection layer onto the chromium finish surface during contacting the chromium surface with the aqueous solution in step b); and to the use of said aqueous solution.
(FR) La présente invention concerne un procédé de post-traitement d'une surface de finition au chrome pour améliorer la résistance à la corrosion, ce procédé consistant à: a) former un substrat présentant une surface de finition au chrome, et au moins une couche intermédiaire, entre la surface de finition au chrome et le substrat, choisie dans le groupe constitué par du nickel, des alliages de nickel, du cuivre et des alliages de cuivre, la surface de finition au chrome étant une surface d'une couche plaquée de chrome trivalent, obtenue par électroplacage du substrat, comportant ladite au moins une couche intermédiaire, dans un bain de placage, le bain de placage comprenant des ions de chrome (III) comme source principale de chrome; b) mettre en contact la surface de finition au chrome avec une solution aqueuse, comprenant un permanganate, au moins un composé qui est choisi parmi un composé phosphore-oxygène, un hydroxyde, un nitrate, un borate, de l'acide borique, un silicate ou un mélange d'au moins deux de ces composés; c) former une couche de protection contre la corrosion transparente sur la surface de finition au chrome pendant la mise en contact de la surface de finition au chrome avec la solution aqueuse à l'étape b); et l'invention concernant également l'utilisation de ladite solution aqueuse.
