(EN)A method and a system for assessing the time of flight (TOF) performance of a positron emission tomography (PET) scanner are provided. The method may include: obtaining raw data related to radiation originating from an object from a PET scan by a PET scanner, the raw data including TOF information; generating, based on a back projection algorithm, a first back projection image by reconstructing the raw data including the TOF information; generating, based on the back projection algorithm, a second back projection image by reconstructing the raw data excluding the TOF information; comparing the first back projection image with the second back projection image and assessing, based on the comparison, the TOF performance of the PET scanner.
(FR)L'invention concerne un procédé et un système d'évaluation des performances de temps de vol (TOF) d'un scanner de tomographie par émission de positrons (TEP). Le procédé peut comprendre les étapes consistant à : obtenir des données brutes relatives à un rayonnement provenant d'un objet à partir d'un balayage TEP par un scanner TEP, les données brutes contenant des informations de TOF; générer, sur la base d'un algorithme de rétroprojection, une première image de rétroprojection par reconstruction des données brutes contenant les informations de TOF; générer, sur la base de l'algorithme de rétroprojection, une deuxième image de rétroprojection par reconstruction des données brutes à l'exclusion des informations de TOF; comparer la première image de rétroprojection à la deuxième image de rétroprojection et évaluer, sur la base de la comparaison, les performances de TOF du scanner TEP.
