Abstract:
A distance measurement device that, in order to reliably detect objects that are located in projection areas and to measure the distance to detected objects, comprises a light-emitting device, a light-receiving device, and a control device. The light-emitting device has a phase-modulation-type spatial light modulator element and emits, toward at least two projection areas, projected light that forms a pattern that corresponds to a phase distribution that is displayed by a display unit of the spatial light modulator element. The light-receiving device captures images of areas that include the pattern formed by the projected light emitted by the light-emitting device. The control device controls light emission from the light-emitting device, analyzes imaging data captured by the light-receiving device so as to verify whether objects are present in each of the projection areas, and measures the distance to detected objects.
