Abstract:
Provided is a device for evaluating tire rolling resistance that makes it possible to reduce the capacity of a power source for obtaining excitation amplitude and thereby reduce vibration and fatigue damage of the entire device and of a drum component. The device (10) for evaluating tire rolling resistance is provided with: load rolls (44) having a surface that simulates a road surface on which a tire (2) travels; a movement mechanism (12, 13) for causing the load rolls (44) to move in an alternating manner in a proximity direction approaching the tire (2) and in a separation direction leading away from the tire (2); a load sensor (38); a position sensor (37); a phase difference derivation unit (48) that derives the phase difference of variation in the load and variation in the positions of the load rolls (44) on the basis of signals from the load sensor (38) and the position sensor (37); and a rolling resistance evaluation unit (49) that compares with the phase difference derived by the phase difference derivation unit (48) and evaluates the rolling resistance of the tire to be evaluated. The two or more load rolls (44) are arranged side by side and have a smaller diameter than the tire (2).
