Abstract:
The invention essentially consists of arranging a new seal (10), within a porous substrate (8) which forms the contact element of each hydrogen H2 circulating electrode (2) (cathode for an SOEC reactor, anode for an SOFC fuel cell), and in the periphery of this electrode beyond the ducts for supplying the injected gas and recovering the gases, in order to force said gases to circulate into the only useful zone of the cell which corresponds to the electrochemically active surface of the electrode H2. Thus, all of the injected gases (H2O, H2, CO2, CO, CH4, etc.), supplying either an SOEC electrolysis or co-electrolysis reactor, or an SOFC fuel cell, can be converted.
