Abstract:
(EN) Techniques for detecting a presence of a metallic and/or a ferromagnetic object over a region for wirelessly transferring power to charge an electric vehicle are presented. An example apparatus includes one or more foreign object detection (FOD) loops arranged in an array over a charging area, at least a portion of the FOD loops being in a first configuration and at least a portion of the FOD loops being second configuration different than the first configuration based on a value indicative of an amount of magnetic coupling between the charging area and a respective one the FOD loops within a corresponding area of the array.
(FR) L'invention concerne des techniques pour détecter la présence d'un objet métallique et/ou ferromagnétique sur une région en vue du transfert sans fil d'énergie destinée à charger un véhicule électrique. Un exemple d'appareil comprend une ou plusieurs boucles de détection de corps étrangers (FOD) disposées en un réseau sur une zone de charge, au moins une portion des boucles FOD étant dans une première configuration et au moins une portion des boucles FOD étant une deuxième configuration différente de la première configuration sur la base d'une valeur indicative d'une amplitude de couplage magnétique entre la zone de charge et une boucle respective parmi les boucles FOD à l'intérieur d'une zone correspondante du réseau.
