Abstract:
(EN) Disclosed are improved compositions, systems, methods and techniques for processing and preparing cement, cement constituents and concrete formulations involving natural pozzolans. In various embodiments, the water demand, compressive strength, set times and workability in concrete incorporating certain natural pozzolans can be improved by blending with calcium carbonate powders, while further improvements can be accomplished if the calcium carbonate is inter-ground with the natural pozzolan to a desired and/or minimum fineness. This addition of calcium carbonate, fly ash, ground granulated blast furnace slag, ground glass and various acids to a natural pozzolan can desirably reduce water requirements and improve the physical performance characteristics of the natural pozzolan and the overall characteristics of the concrete. Various applications may allow for (1) extension of limited fly ash supplies in certain regions, (2) greater replacement of costly Portland cement, and/or (3) significant reductions of greenhouse gases resulting from Portland cement manufacture.
(FR) La présente invention concerne des compositions, des systèmes, des procédés et des techniques améliorés de traitement et de préparation de ciment, de constituants de ciment et de formulations de béton comprenant des pouzzolanes d’origine naturelle. Dans divers modes de réalisation, la demande en eau, la résistance à la compression, les temps de durcissement et la maniabilité dans le béton comprenant certaines pouzzolanes d’origine naturelle peuvent être améliorés par mélange avec des poudres de carbonate de calcium, tandis que des améliorations supplémentaires peuvent être réalisées si le carbonate de calcium est inter-broyé avec la pouzzolane d’origine naturelle jusqu’à une finesse souhaitée et/ou minimale.
