Abstract:
Disclosed is an otoscope comprising: a bar-shaped housing having multiple pipe channels formed therein to extend in a lengthwise direction thereof; a photographing unit installed at a distal end of a first pipe channel, which is one of the pipe channels, to photograph a surface of an affected part; a light source unit installed in a second pipe channel, which is at least another of the pipe channels, to illuminate the front direction thereof; a tomography unit installed at a distal end of a third pipe channel, which is yet another of the pipe channels, to perform an optical coherence tomography (OCT) scan of an affected part; an image outputting unit for selectively displaying information collected through the photographing unit and the tomography unit; and an interface unit disposed between the housing and the image outputting unit to allow information collected through the photographing unit and the tomography unit to be displayed on the image outputting unit. The present invention as described above allows capturing of a surface image and tomogram of an affected part, and is thus expected to improve the accuracy of a medical examination and diagnosis of an ear disease, such as tympanitis, and enhance the efficiency of treatment.
