The invention relates to a protective cover for automotive vehicles, comprising a laminar body of dimensions suitable for covering the top of a vehicle, said cover being provided with attachment means (2, 2', 2") for attaching to the vehicle and being formed by two foldable layers (3), one internal and one external, made from a flexible air-impermeable material, between which layers is defined at least one chamber (4) that can be inflated by means of at least one valve (5). According to the invention, once the chamber (4) is inflated, a cushioned surface between 2 and 2.5 cm thick is defined, said cushioned surface covering at least the area of the cover (1) that corresponds to the upper part of the vehicle. The valve (5) is provided with an adapter for the use of bottles of pressurised CO2 gas for inflating and is disposed in the area of the driver door of the vehicle, the valve being provided with closure means (6) that cover same. The cover comprises magnetised means (7) for attaching and fitting the cover to the shape of the vehicle once the chamber (4) has been inflated. The attachment means (2, 2', 2") for attaching to the vehicle comprise adjustable elastic straps (2, 2') that are provided with hooks at their ends for attaching to the lower part of the vehicle, as well as elastic rubber elements that form a loop (2”) for attaching the cover to the wing mirrors of the vehicle.
