Title: AIR/OIL SEPARATING ELEMENT, DEVICE FOR SEPARATING OIL FROM UNFILTERED AIR, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING AN AIR/OIL SEPARATING ELEMENT
Abstract:
The invention relates to an air/oil separating element (100; 102; 104; 106) for separating oil from unfiltered air which originates from a connection component (80) of an engine, in particular a compressor or a vacuum pump, having at least one hollow cylindrical filter coil with at least one filter medium (12, 13) which is designed to separate oil from unfiltered air and which is coiled about a support tube (14, 15) that has air through-openings, at least one filtered air outlet (52) which is designed to discharge the filtered air from the air/oil separating element (100; 102; 104; 106), and a base element (16) which is designed to cover the base-side end surface of the filter coil. The base element (16) has an outer edge (34) which is curved towards the filter coil and an adjacently arranged elevation (32) which is oriented towards the filter coil. The edge (34) and the elevation (32) together form an annular groove (36) which is designed to receive the foot-side end region of the filter coil, and the base element (16) has a trough region (30) which adjoins the elevation (32) radially inwards and is designed to collect the separated oil. The aim of the invention is to develop the air/oil separating element (100; 102; 104; 106) such that oil drops which have already been separated are prevented from penetrating the flow of air through the air/oil separating element (100; 102; 104; 106). This is achieved in that the base element (16) is designed such that the oil cannot be collected between the filter coil and the trough region (30) and/or at least one air-impermeable means (70, 72, 74) is provided which prevents the air flowing through the air/oil separating element (100; 102; 104; 106) from flowing through an air/oil separating element (100; 102; 104; 106) intermediate region (60) lying between the filter coil and the trough region (30).
