Abstract:
According to the present invention, an analysis of mercury contained in a gas to be measured is carried out only by detecting zero-valent mercury. A first analyzing device 5 is provided with a light source 532, a detector 533, and an arithmetic control unit 55. The light source 532 illuminates a measuring space M with measuring light LM including at least a wavelength range which interacts with zero-valent mercury. The detector 533 detects the measuring light LM that has passed through the measuring space M. The arithmetic control unit 55 calculates information related to the abundance of zero-valent mercury and divalent mercury contained in the gas to be measured, on the basis of a time varying pattern representing a variation over time in the detected intensity of the measuring light LM when the gas to be measured is present in the measuring space M.
