(EN)Provided are an endoscope and an endoscope system with which it is possible to prevent the occurrence of luminance differences in an image irrespective of the type of processor that is connected. An endoscope 2 is provided with: an image capturing element 202; a timing control unit 511 which, on the basis of a first vertical synchronization signal input from the outside, generates a second vertical synchronization signal for controlling the timing at which a read-out unit 202b reads out an electrical signal; and an imaging control unit 21 which causes the read-out unit 202b to sequentially read out the electrical signal, on the basis of the second vertical synchronization signal.
