(EN) Provided is a method for producing an oligomer, the method comprising a step for oligomerizing a polymerizable monomer containing an olefin in the presence of a catalyst, wherein the catalyst contains trialkylaluminum and an iron complex represented by general formula (1) below. [In formula (1), R represents a hydrocarbyl group having a carbon number of 1-6 or an aromatic group having a carbon number of 6-12, a plurality of Rs in the same molecule may be the same or different, R' represents a free radical having an oxygen atom and/or a nitrogen atom, a plurality of R's in the same molecule may be the same or different, and Y represents a chlorine atom or a bromine atom.]
