Abstract:
(EN) [Problem] The primary characteristics required for the next-generation display include flexibility applicable to a flexible display, transparency applicable to a transmissive display, power saving, and so forth. The present invention provides a liquid crystal element that makes it possible to obtain each of the above characteristics and that is applicable in both a normal mode that creates a non-transparent state when voltage is not applied and a transparent state when voltage is applied, and a reverse mode that creates a transparent state when voltage is not applied and a non-transparent state when voltage is applied. [Solution] Provided is a liquid crystal element including a phase-separated liquid crystal layer that contains a liquid crystal composition and an oriented polymer, a homogeneous alignment film, and an electrode, wherein: the liquid crystal composition exhibits positive dielectric anisotropy; the oriented polymer is formed by UV curing a polymerizable compound having a mesogenic group represented by a general formula (i); and the mesogenic group in the oriented polymer is oriented in the direction of the alignment regulating force in the homogeneous alignment film.
(FR) [Problème] Les caractéristiques primaires requises pour un écran de prochaine génération comprennent une flexibilité applicable à un écran flexible, une transparence applicable à un écran transmissif, une économie d'énergie, etc. La présente invention concerne un élément à cristaux liquides qui permet d'obtenir chacune de ces caractéristiques citées ci-dessus et qui est applicable à la fois dans un mode normal qui crée un état non transparent lorsqu'une tension n'est pas appliquée et un état transparent lorsqu'une tension est appliquée, et un mode inverse qui crée un état transparent lorsque la tension n'est pas appliquée et un état non transparent lorsqu'une tension est appliquée. [Solution] L'invention porte sur un élément à cristaux liquides comprenant une couche de cristaux liquides à séparation de phase qui contient une composition de cristaux liquides et un polymère orienté, un film d'alignement homogène, et une électrode, la composition de cristaux liquides présentant une anisotropie diélectrique positive; le polymère orienté étant formé par durcissement par UV d'un composé polymérisable ayant un groupe mésogène représenté par une formule générale (i); et le groupe mésogène dans le polymère orienté étant orienté dans la direction de la force de régulation d'alignement dans le film d'alignement homogène.
