Abstract:
This force sensor detects the forces in each axis direction and/or the moments around each axis in an XYZ three-dimensional coordinate system, wherein the force sensor comprises: a first support body; a second support body that is disposed spaced apart from the first support body; a first deformation body having a first deformation part; a second deformation body having a second deformation part; a sensor that measures the deformation which occurs in the first deformation part and the second deformation part; a connection member that connects each first deformation part and the corresponding second deformation part; and a detection circuit that outputs an electrical signal indicating the force or moment that has acted. The first deformation part has a spring constant which differs from the spring constant of the second deformation part. The detection circuit outputs a first electrical signal corresponding to the deformation of the first deformation part which corresponds to the force or moment that has acted, and a second electrical signal corresponding to the deformation of the second deformation part which corresponds to the force or moment that has acted, and determines whether the force sensor is functioning normally on the basis of a change in the ratio between the first electrical signal and the second electrical signal.
