[Problem] To provide a three-dimensional object recognition device for which installation and maintenance can be conducted safely and easily. [Solution] A three-dimensional object recognition device 1 is provided with a camera 2, which recognizes the position and orientation of an object W when the object W is retrieved by a robot 12 from inside a bottomed square tubular box 18 that opens upward and which acquires an image by photographing the object W. The robot 12 is disposed on the left side of the box 18 and the camera 2 is disposed on the right side of the box 18 so as to be supported by a support 5. Under said circumstance, the camera 2 is disposed directly above the right side wall 28 of the box 18 separated therefrom with the optical axis directed toward the inside of the box 18, and is disposed at a position lower than the highest point within the range in which the robot 12 can move during retrieval work.
