Title: OPTICAL SENSOR MODULE AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING AN OPTICAL SENSOR MODULE FOR TIME-OF-FLIGHT MEASUREMENT
Abstract:
An optical sensor module for time-of-flight measurement comprises an optical emitter (OE), a main detector (MD) and a reference detector (RD) which are arranged in or on a carrier (CA). An opaque housing of the optical sensor module has a first chamber (C1) and a second chamber (C2) which are separated by a light barrier (LB). The housing has a cover section (CS)and is arranged on the carrier (CA) such that the optical emitter (OE)is located inside the first chamber (C1), the main detector (MD) is located inside the second chamber (C2) and the reference detector (RD) is located outside the first chamber (C1). Furthermore, amain surface (MS) of the cover section (CS) is positioned opposite the carrier (CA). The optical emitter (OE)is arranged and configured to emit light through a first aperture (A1) in the cover section (CS), and the main detector (MD) is arranged and configured to detect light entering the second chamber (C2) through a second aperture (A2) in the cover section (CS). A reference path (RP) is established between the optical emitter (OE)and the reference detector (RD) inside the optical sensor module, and confined by the main surface of the cover section (CS) and the carrier (CA).Additionally, a method for manufacturing an optical sensor module for time- of-flight measurement is presented.
