Title: METHOD FOR PREPARING INDUSTRIAL GRADE LITHIUM CARBONATE FROM CRUDE LITHIUM FLUORIDE, AND A LITHIUM CARBONATE PRODUCT
Abstract:
Provided is a method for preparing industrial grade lithium carbonate from crude lithium fluoride, and a lithium carbonate product. The method comprises the following steps: a. slurry preparation: stirring crude lithium fluoride into a slurry, and adding acid to prepare a crude lithium fluoride slurry-like material; b. compound decomposition: add the lithium fluoride slurry-like material obtained in step (a) to a boiling calcium chloride solution, then adding an alkaline substance, and obtaining a lithium chloride solution; c. lithium carbonate precipitation: heating the lithium chloride solution obtained in step (b) then, according to the mass of lithium in said lithium chloride solution, adding a carbonate solution, stirring at a constant temperature, and filtering, the filter cake being a lithium carbonate product. By means of the present method, the lithium fluoride is decomposed at one time in a low-acid environment, fluoride ions are removed, a compound decomposition reaction is used to decompose the lithium fluoride into lithium ions and calcium fluoride precipitates, thus completing decomposition and fluorine removal in one stage. The operations are simple, production costs low, and elemental lithium recovery rate high.
