Abstract:
(EN) A photonic device such as a polarization controller comprises a coupler (110), such as a 2X2 MMI coupler, or a plurality of couplers, a plurality of photodetectors (132,134,136), and a processing section (140). The coupler (110) has two inputs and two outputs making a total of four inputs (112,114) and outputs (116,118). The photodetector (132,134,136) is coupled to three of four inputs (112,114) and outputs (116,118) and configured to provide signals indicative of power of light at each of the three of the four inputs (112,114) and outputs (116,118). The processing section (140) is configured to receive the signals provided by the plurality of photodetectors (132,134,136). The arrangement of photodetectors (132,134,136) can provide feedback information for determining the state of polarization of light within the photonic device. A measurement device integrated into a photonic and a method for obtaining optical measurements in a photonic device, are also provided.
(FR) L'invention concerne un dispositif photonique tel qu'un contrôleur de polarisation, comprenant un coupleur (110), tel qu'un coupleur MMI 2 x 2, ou une pluralité de coupleurs, une pluralité de photodétecteurs (132, 134, 136) et une section de traitement (140). Le coupleur (110) comporte deux entrées et deux sorties totalisant quatre entrées (112, 114) et sorties (116, 118). Parmi quatre entrées (112, 114) et sorties (116, 118), le photodétecteur (132, 134, 136) est couplé à trois de ces derniers et il est configuré pour fournir des signaux indiquant la puissance de la lumière à chacune des quatre entrées (112, 114) et sorties (116, 118).
