Abstract:
(EN) A process to isolate objects of interest in an image uses a model which takes into account the artifacts stemming from the JPEG compression. The pixels are sorted accordingly to layers which regroup pixels of similar value, and the background is modeled by a polygon from an additional picture. Segmentation based on the knowledge of the background and the layers is then performed. This method provides good results for segmentation, while being sufficiently fast to be implemented for real time application.
(FR) Un procédé pour isoler des objets d'intérêt dans une image utilise un modèle qui prend en compte les artefacts provenant de la compression JPEG. Les pixels sont triés en fonction de couches qui représentent des pixels de valeurs similaires, et l'arrière-plan est modélisé par un polygone à partir d'une image supplémentaire. On procède ensuite à la segmentation sur la base de la connaissance de l'arrière-plan et des couches. Le présent procédé offre de bons résultats pour la segmentation, tout en étant suffisamment rapide pour être mis en œuvre pour une application en temps réel.
