Abstract:
(EN) Systems and methods for determining an abnormal glycemic event using surrogates for glucose are disclosed herein. In an embodiment, a medical system includes a medical device associated with a subject and a processor communicatively coupled to the medical device. The medical device is configured to sense a signal corresponding to a presence of a compound in at least one of: an exhalation breath, interstitial fluid, blood and urine, wherein the compound is a surrogate for glucose. The processor is configured to receive the signal corresponding to the presence of the compound; determine the presence of the compound based on the received signal; and determine the subject is experiencing an abnormal glycemic event in response to the determined presence of the compound.
(FR) L'invention concerne des systèmes et des procédés pour déterminer un événement glycémique anormal à l'aide de substituts de glucose. Dans un mode de réalisation, un système médical comprend un dispositif médical associé à un sujet et un processeur couplé en communication au dispositif médical. Le dispositif médical est configuré pour détecter un signal correspondant à la présence d'un composé dans au moins un des éléments suivants : un air expiré, un liquide interstitiel, du sang et de l'urine, le composé étant un substitut du glucose. Le processeur est configuré pour recevoir le signal correspondant à la présence du composé ; déterminer la présence du composé sur la base du signal reçu ; et déterminer si le sujet subit un événement glycémique anormal en réponse à la présence déterminée du composé.
