Abstract:
(EN) A technique for controlling access to a network provides an electronic system that includes multiple antennas located in a physical space. The antennas receive wireless signals at their respective locations from devices within range of the antennas, and the electronic system processes the wireless signals as received by the antennas to measure locations of the devices relative to the antennas. The electronic system then allows or denies access to the network depending on whether the devices' measured locations are inside or outside a predefined physical region relative to the antennas. In this manner, only devices confirmed to be physically present within the predefined region are allowed to access the network. Devices outside the predefined region are physically blocked, such that no wireless communication with the network is possible.
(FR) Une technique pour contrôler l'accès à un réseau fournit un système électronique qui comprend de multiples antennes situées dans un espace physique. Les antennes reçoivent des signaux sans fil au niveau de leurs emplacements respectifs provenant de dispositifs situés dans la portée des antennes, et le système électronique traite les signaux sans fil tels que reçus par les antennes pour mesurer les emplacements des dispositifs par rapport aux antennes. Le système électronique autorise ou refuse ensuite l'accès au réseau selon que les emplacements mesurés des dispositifs se trouvent à l'intérieur ou à l'extérieur d'une région physique prédéfinie par rapport aux antennes. De cette manière, seuls les dispositifs confirmés comme étant physiquement présents dans la région prédéfinie sont autorisés à accéder au réseau. Les dispositifs situés à l'extérieur de la région prédéfinie sont physiquement bloqués, de sorte qu'aucune communication sans fil avec le réseau n'est possible.
