Abstract:
(EN) An apparatus measures an electromagnetic signal (e.g., light) propagation time delay that varies with system speed relative to its propagation medium. A one-way light propagation time measurement in the medium between two fixed points moving relative 5 to the medium is used. The delay is compared with light propagating in a constant reference path that is independent of motion. A two-way system is also used, as well as increasing sensitivity through a light zigzag and fiber optic coil delay. The apparatus is a compact and extremely sensitive speedometer.
(FR) L'invention concerne un appareil qui assure la mesure d'un retard de propagation d'un signal électromaégnique (p.ex. la lumière), ledit retard varie en fonction de la vitesse du système par rapport à son milieu de propagation. On utilise une mesure unidirectionnelle du temps de propagation de la lumière dans le milieu entre deux points fixes se déplaçant par rapport au milieu. Le retard est comparé à la propagation de la lumière dans un chemin de référence constant qui est indépendant du déplacement. On utilise également un système bidirectionnel, ainsi que l'augmentation de la sensibilité à travers un zigzag lumineux et un retard de bobine de fibre optique. L'appareil est un indicateur de vitesse compact d'une extrêmement sensible.
