Abstract:
(EN) The invention relates to a bio-based polyelectrolyte complex (PEC) composition suitable as a binder for fiber based materials, textiles, woven and nonwoven materials, said PEC composition comprising cationic biopolymer, anionic biopolymer, acid and a preservative, and wherein the net charge of the PEC is cationic, the charge ratio of the anionic polymer and the cationic polymer is ≤1, the cationic biopolymer is chitosan, the anionic biopolymer is a polyanion derived from nature, the acid is a Brønsted acid and/or a Lewis acid, wherein the Brønsted acid is selected from any organic and/or inorganic acids, and wherein the Lewis acid is selected from any cationic mono- or multivalent atom, the weight ratio between cation and anion is 1:0.1 to 1:20, the weight ratio between the cation and acid is 1:0.01 to 1:30, chitosan has a degree of deacetylation being 66-100 %, the p H is less than 7, and wherein said composition further comprises one or more fatty compounds as well as methods and use thereof. The present invention further relates to a method for preparing the PEC composition, uses of the PEC composition, as well as method of treating materials with the PEC composition.
(FR) L'invention concerne une composition de complexes de polyélectrolyte (PEC) à base de substances biologiques appropriée en tant que liant pour matériaux à base de fibres, textiles, matériaux tissés et non-tissés, ladite composition de PEC comprenant un biopolymère cationique, un biopolymère anionique, un acide et un agent conservateur. La charge nette du PEC est cationique, le rapport des charges du polymère anionique et du polymère cationique est ≤ 1, le biopolymère cationique est du chitosane, le biopolymère anionique est un polyanion dérivé de substances naturelles, l'acide est un acide de Brönsted et/ou un acide de Lewis, l'acide de Brönsted étant choisi parmi n'importe quel acide organique et/ou inorganique, et l'acide de Lewis étant choisi parmi n'importe quel atome cationique mono- ou multivalent, le rapport pondéral entre le cation et l'anion étant de 1:0,1 à 1:20, le rapport pondéral entre le cation et l'acide étant de 1:0,01 à 1:30, le chitosane présentant un degré de désacétylation de 66 à 100 %, le pH étant inférieur à 7, et ladite composition comprenant en outre un ou plusieurs composés gras. L'invention concerne également des procédés et une utilisation de celle-ci. La présente invention concerne en outre un procédé de préparation de la composition de PEC, des utilisations de la composition de PEC, ainsi qu'un procédé de traitement de matériaux avec la composition de PEC.
