A hard material provided with first hard phases that have titanium carbonitride as the main component and binder phases that have an iron group element as the main component, wherein in a selected surface or cross-section of said hard material, the particle diameter D50 for the first hard phases at 50% in the cumulative area-based particle size distribution is at least 1.0 µm, and the average aspect ratio of the first hard phases that have particle diameters of at least D50 is 2.0 or less.

Cette invention concerne un matériau dur comprenant de premières phases dures dont le constituant principal est le carbonitrure de et des phases de liant dont le constituant principal est un élément du groupe du fer. Dans une surface ou une section transversale sélectionnée dudit matériau dur, le diamètre des particules (D50) pour les premières phases dures à 50 % dans la distribution granulométrique cumulative basée sur la surface est d'au moins 1,0 µm, et le rapport d'aspect moyen des premières phases dures qui ont des diamètres de particule d'au moins (D50) est inférieur ou égal à 2,0.
