Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for dead time optimization of MOSFETs (14, 4', 14'') in an inverter (13) of an motor controller (10) of an electric motor (9) in an electromechanical motor vehicle power steering mechanism or a steer-by-wire system, wherein the inverter (13) comprises at least two MOSFETs (14, 14', 14''), a high side MOSFET (14') and a low side MOSFET (14''), and wherein the motor controller (10) controls the at least two MOSFETS (14, 14', 14'') with gate driver signals with at least one or more dead times (Td1,Td2), the dead time (Td1,Td2) representing a time of the MOSFETs (14, 14', 14'') for switching over from one MOSFET (14, 14', 14'') to another MOSFET (14, 14', 14'') connected in series, the method comprises the steps of: Measuring a cross conduction between a high side MOSFET (14') and a low 1 side MOSFET (14'') in a current measurement unit(15), If a cross conduction occurs increasing the dead time (Td1,Td2); else decreasing the dead time (Td1,Td2).
