Title: METHOD FOR CONVERTING ALDOSE INTO KETONE BY USING ELECTROCHEMICAL CATALYTIC REACTION
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method for electrochemically converting aldose into a ketone compound, comprising the steps of: performing a reduction reaction on aldose through an electrochemical catalytic reaction in the presence of a catalyst so as to generate an alcohol intermediate (step 1); and performing an oxidation reaction on the alcohol intermediate through an electrochemical catalytic reaction in the presence of a catalyst so as to generate a ketone compound (step 2). According to the present invention, the method for electrochemically converting aldose into a ketone compound can convert biomass-derived low value-added aldose into a high value-added ketone compound with a fast reaction speed and high selectivity by using a catalytic reaction in a single reactor. In addition, overvoltage for the reaction can be reduced according to the simultaneous progress of the oxidation reaction and the reduction reaction in a single reactor.
