Abstract:
(EN) Provided is a rangefinding system (100) including: an imaging device (120) having an optical system (122) that forms an image of a predetermined area on an imaging surface of an imaging element (121); and a rangefinding unit (105) that calculates the distance to a target on the basis of image data obtained from the imaging element (121), wherein, in the case where the ratio of the number of imaging pixels for capturing an image included in a unit angle of view to the number of imaging pixels as a whole is considered as a resolution, the optical system (122) includes a free-form curved-surface lens (123) that is shaped so as to form an image on the imaging surface such that the resolution in a first area, which is an area in front of the abovementioned area, is higher than the resolution in second areas, which are located on lateral sides.
