Title: BETAVOLTAIC BATTERY
Abstract:
The invention relates to nuclear and semiconductor technology, and more particularly to the creation of semiconductor converter-based power supplies employing the betavoltaic effect. A betavoltaic battery comprises a housing, a cover, semiconductor converters, and insulating and radioisotope elements and electrically conductive contacts, configured into a single assembly or a plurality of assemblies connected in parallel and (or) in series to achieve the required output capacity. An assembly is composed of converters oriented relative to each other with surfaces of one polarity facing surfaces of opposite polarity and having electrically conductive radioisotope elements disposed therebetween. The assemblies are separated by insulating elements having equidistant grooves. Opposite grooves are provided with electrically conductive contacts capable of electrical connection with the electrically conductive contacts of the outermost converters of each assembly and with a regulator. A radioisotope element is in the form of a highly enriched isotope of nickel-63, applied to the n-layers of the semiconductor converters. The technical result is: an increase in the specific capacity of the battery due to more comprehensive use of the radiation of the radioisotope elements and the use of the radioisotope elements as electrical contacts between converters; and the possibility of the electrical connection of the battery assemblies with an output electrical parameter regulator during operation.
