Abstract:
(EN) A method for discriminating different types of plastic materials, in particular dark non-reflecting plastics, comprising the steps of: (a) providing a substrate (10) with a composition comprising a plurality of metallic elements, each suitable for producing a respective line of fluorescence emission when subjected to excitation by means of an X-ray beam; (b) providing a plastic sample (P) to discriminate interposed between a source of said X-ray beam (2) and said substrate (10); (c) irradiating said sample (P) by means of an X-ray beam with continuous spectrum S(E) of energy E produced by said source (2) and, through said sample (P), said substrate (10) underlying the sample (P); (d) detecting a resulting radiation S3(Ei) including: - a fluorescence emission radiation IMF(Ei) at energy Ei of each element (i) of said substrate (10) produced as a consequence of said step (c) of irradiating without said sample (P); (e) detecting a resulting radiation S4(Ei) including: - a fluorescence emission radiation IMD(Ei) at energy Ei of each element (i) of said substrate (10) produced as a consequence of said step (c) of irradiating and attenuated through said sample (P), and - a Compton scattering radiation S2(E) produced by said sample (P) 25 produced as a consequence of said step (c) of irradiating; (f) calculating, for each element (i), a parameter qualifying the plastic sample (P) as a function of such fluorescence emission radiation IMF(Ei), IMD(Ei) and Compton scattering radiation S2(E): αM (Ei), RiP/C.
(FR) L’invention concerne un procédé permettant de différencier différents types de matières plastiques les uns des autres, en particulier les matières plastiques noires non réfléchissantes, ledit procédé comprenant les étapes consistant à : (a) doter un substrat (10) d’une composition comprenant une pluralité d’éléments métalliques, chacun étant approprié pour produire une raie d’émission de fluorescence distincte lorsqu’il est soumis à l’excitation par un faisceau à rayons X ; (b) placer un échantillon de matière plastique (P) à différencier entre une source dudit faisceau à rayons X (2) et ledit substrat (10) ; (c) irradier ledit échantillon (P) par un faisceau à rayons X à spectre continu S(E) d’énergie E produit par ladite source (2) et passant à travers ledit échantillon (P), ledit substrat (10) sous l’échantillon (P) ; (d) détecter un rayonnement résultant S 3 (E i ) comprenant : un rayon d’émission de fluorescence I M F (E i ) à l’énergie E i de chaque élément (i) dudit substrat (10) produit suite à ladite étape (c) d’irradiation sans ledit échantillon (P) ; (e) détecter un rayonnement résultant S 4 (E i ) comprenant : un rayon d’émission de fluorescence I M D(E i ) à l’énergie E i de chaque élément (i) dudit substrat (10) produit suite à ladite étape (c) d’irradiation et atténué par ledit échantillon (P), et un rayon de diffusion Compton S 2 (E) produit par ledit échantillon (P) 25 produit suite à ladite étape (c) d’irradiation ; (f) calculer, pour chaque élément (i), un paramètre qualifiant l’échantillon de matière plastique (P) en fonction du rayon d’émission de fluorescence I M F (E i ), I M D(E i ) et du rayon de diffusion Compton S 2 (E): αM (Ei), Ri P/C..
