Title: METHOD FOR EXTRACTING ELEMICIN FROM PEPPER
Abstract:
A method for extracting an elemicin from a pepper. The method uses a pepper leaf as a raw material, and comprises the following treatment steps: pulverizing then freezing the pepper leaf, followed by soaking in hot water; extraction step: filtering, then collecting the filtered pepper leaf to perform ethanol ultrasonic extraction and obtain a fluid extract; elemicin collecting step: filtering the fluid extract and distilling the filtered fluid under a temperature of 95-105°C for 1-2 hours. Freezing followed by hot water soaking of the pepper leaf prior to extraction effectively breaks a cell wall and cell membrane of the leaf, facilitating the extraction of the elemicin in the subsequent extraction step. After treating the pepper leaf, the ethanol ultrasonic extraction and distillation treatment steps are used to effectively extract the elemicin from the pepper leaf. The method also has improved extraction rate.
