(EN)Methods and apparatus for improving cognitive function within a human. The invention utilizes a neurostimulation device, such as a signal generator, to affect tissue elements at a lateral temporal lobe of the human brain. The implanted device delivers treatment therapy to thereby improve cognitive function by the human. A sensor may be used to detect various characteristics of cognition. A microprocessor algorithm may then analyze the output from the sensor to regulate delivery of the stimulation therapy.
(FR)L'invention concerne des procédés et un appareil d'amélioration de la fonction cognitive chez un être humain. L'invention utilise un dispositif de neurostimulation, tel qu'un générateur de signaux, pour affecter des éléments tissulaires au niveau d'un lobe temporel latéral du cerveau humain. Le dispositif implanté fournit une thérapie de traitement pour améliorer ainsi la fonction cognitive par l'homme. Un capteur peut être utilisé pour détecter diverses caractéristiques de la cognition.
