Abstract
(EN) Methods and systems for surface normal estimation are disclosed. In some aspects, a plurality of images or depth maps representing a three dimensional object from multiple viewpoints is received. Surface normals at surface points within a single image of the plurality of images are estimated based on surface points within the single image. An electronic representation of a three dimensional surface of the object is generated based on the surface normals and a point cloud comprised of surface points derived from the plurality of images.
(FR) La présente invention concerne des procédés et des systèmes d'estimation de normale à la surface. Selon certains aspects, une pluralité d'images ou de cartes de profondeur, représentant un objet tridimensionnel sous des points de vue multiples, sont reçues. Des normales à la surface à des points de surface à l'intérieur d'une seule image de la pluralité d'images sont estimées sur la base de points de surface dans l'image unique. Une représentation électronique d'une surface tridimensionnelle de l'objet est générée sur la base des normales à la surface et d'un nuage de points constitué de points de surface dérivés de la pluralité d'images.
