Title: DIFFRACTIVE OPTICAL ELEMENT AND LIGHT IRRADIATION DEVICE
Abstract:
The present invention provides a diffractive optical element and a light irradiation device which have high optical utilization efficiency, in which, even if the incidence angle of light is deviated, the influence on diffracted light is small and desired diffracted light can be stably obtained, and which have little unevenness in diffracted light. A diffractive optical element 10 shapes light, and is provided with a diffractive layer 15 comprising in a sectional shape a high refractive index part 11 in which a plurality of protruding sections 11a are arranged side by side, and a low refractive index part 14 having a lower refractive index than the high refractive index part 11 and including a recessed section 12 formed at least between the protruding sections 11a. The protruding section 11a has a multistep shape provided with a plurality of step areas (11a-1, 11a-2, 11a-3, 11a-4) having different heights on at least one side of a side surface shape thereof, and the side surface shape of the protruding section 11a is at least partially provided with inclined sections (11b, 11c, 11d) inclined with respect to a plane including the diffractive layer 15.
