Claims

1 . Painting booth (10) comprising a painting chamber (1 1 ) inside which the paint is sprayed and which is equipped with an air-permeable bottom (15) through which an air flow is sucked from the painting chamber (1 1 ) towards a filtering zone (16) below the bottom of the painting chamber for filtering the air and separating it from the paint overspray, characterized in that at least one filter mat (21 ) is present in the filtering zone (16) and is arranged in a filtering seat so that it is crossed by the air flow and retains the overspray, and below the bottom of the painting chamber (1 1 ) there is an access chamber (19) with at least one entrance (22) through which the maintenance staff may enter into the access chamber (19) in order to change the filter mat (21 ) in the filtering seat.

2. Booth (10) according to claim 1 , characterized in that the access chamber (19) has a ceiling which forms at least part of the bottom (15) of the painting chamber (1 1 ) and the floor of which comprises a grid (20) which is covered by at least one filter mat (21 ).

3. Booth (10) according to claim 1 , characterized in that the filter mat (21 ) is flexible and can be rolled up onto itself.

4. Booth (10) according to claim 1 , characterized in that, downstream of the at least one filter mat, the filtering zone (16) comprises additional filtering means.

5. Booth (10) according to claim 4, characterized in that the additional filtering means comprise a further chamber which is situated below the filtering seat (19) and in which additional filtering elements are arranged so as to be crossed by the air flow after the at least one mat.

Booth (10) according to claim 5, characterized in that in the further chamber there are partition walls (24, 25) with the additional filtering elements (23), said walls being arranged facing each other and inclined downwards towards the centre of the further chamber so as to define in the further chamber a first central part (26) which is for arrival of the air flow through the filter mat (21 ), and at least two second parts (27, 28) which are arranged lateral to the first central part (26) and are separated from it by means of the partition walls with the filtering means and which are zones for evacuation, from the said further chamber, of the air flow passing through the filtering means (23) of the partition walls.

7. Booth (10) according to claim 6, characterized in that the two second parts (27, 28) of the further chamber are connected to a conveyor duct (31 ) leading to a suction inlet (32) of an air removal unit (33).

8. Booth (10) according to claim 4, characterized in that the additional filtering means comprise a further filter mat.

Booth (10) according to claim 1 , characterized in that the filtering seat of the at least one filter mat is placed inside a filtering chamber which is separated from the at least one access chamber but which communicates with the at least one access chamber via passages for entry/exit of the mat into/from the said filtering seat.

Booth (10) according to claim 1 , characterized in that at least some of the walls along the path of the air flow with overspray underneath the painting chamber are at least partially lined with removable sheets (30) of flexible material for protecting these walls against contact with the overspray.

1 1 . Booth (10) according to claim 1 , characterized in that the access chamber (19) has a height of not less than 1 .5 m, and preferably between 1 .8 m and 3 m and, in particular, about 2.5 m.

1 2. Booth (10) according to claim 1 , characterized in that the at least one filter mat (21 ) is supported by or connected to controlled-movement means for replacing the mat in the filtering seat.

1 3. Booth (10) according to claim 12, characterized in that the controlled-movement means comprise chain conveyors for engaging with and moving the mat.

Booth (10) according to claim 1 , characterized in that the filtering seat for the at least one filter mat is arranged above the at least one access chamber and has at least one end connected to said at least one access chamber for the entry and/or exit of the at least one mat into/from said seat through the ceiling of the access chamber.

1 5. Booth (10) according to claim 1 , characterized in that the at least one filter mat is arranged in the filtering seat along at least two inclined planes.

1 6. Booth (10) according to claim 1 , characterized in that in the filtering zone along the air path there are two overlapping filter mats and/or two overlapping sections of the same filter mat.

1 7. Booth (10) according to claim 16, characterized in that the two filter mats or the two overlapping sections of the same filter mat are parallel to each other and/or each arranged along two inclined planes.

1 8. Booth (10) according to claim 1 , characterized in that a conveyor system (14) for transporting objects to be painted in the painting chamber (1 1 ) travels along the floor of the painting chamber between an inlet end of the painting chamber and an opposite outlet end of the painting chamber.
