Abstract:
(EN) A method of operating a filtration unit comprising a filtration vessel containing at least one dead-end filtration element, the or each filtration element comprised of a plurality of hollow fibre microfiltration or ultrafiltration membranes wherein: during filtration, feed water containing suspended particulate material is fed simultaneously to the inside of the hollow fibres through both ends thereof and filtrate is removed from the outside of the hollow fibres through an outlet of the filtration element(s); and during back-washing, back-wash water is fed to outside of the hollow fibres through the outlet of the filtration element(s) and, in a first back-wash cycle, back-wash water containing entrained particulate material is discharged from the inside of the hollow fibres from one end thereof; and, in a second back-wash cycle, back-wash water containing entrained particulate material is discharged from the inside of the hollow fibres from the other end thereof; and wherein the first and second back-wash cycles may be performed in either order.
(FR) L'invention porte sur un procédé de fonctionnement d'une unité de filtration comprenant un récipient de filtration contenant au moins un élément de filtration à extrémité morte, le ou chaque élément de filtration étant constitué d'une pluralité de membranes de microfiltration ou d'ultrafiltration à fibres creuses dans lesquelles : lors de la filtration, de l'eau d'alimentation contenant un matériau particulaire en suspension est alimentée simultanément à l'intérieur des fibres creuses à travers ces deux extrémités et le filtrat est retiré de l'extérieur des fibres creuses par une sortie de l'élément de filtration (s); et pendant le lavage à l'arrière, de l'eau de lavage est alimentée à l'extérieur des fibres creuses à travers la sortie de l'élément de filtration (s) et, dans un premier cycle de lavage à l'arrière, de l'eau de lavage à l'arrière contenant un matériau particulaire entraîné est déchargée à partir de l'intérieur des fibres creuses suivant une de ses extrémités; et, dans un second cycle de lavage à l'arrière, de l'eau de lavage à contre-courant contenant un matériau particulaire entraîné est déchargée à partir de l'intérieur des fibres creuses suivant l'autre extrémité de celles-ci; et les premier et second cycles de lavage à contre-courant peuvent être effectués dans l'un ou l'autre ordre.
