The invention relates to a test method for determining the ageing of hollow polymer articles (30, 100). The invention addresses the problem of improving the known methods and devices for testing ageing to allow information to be provided on the current ageing condition of hollow polymer articles (30, 100). This problem is solved in that impedance measurements are carried out on hollow articles (30, 100) under examination during the ageing test, said measurements being compared with correspondingly acquired values from standard test methods. This allows any ageing tests to be validated using comparisons with the standard test methods. Characteristic ageing values can then be determined which allow ageing in hollow polymer articles (30, 100) to be monitored.
