Abstract:
In the present invention the open-circuit voltage of standard cells 20st changes along a SOC/standard cell voltage characteristic curve, while the open-circuit voltage of a shift cell 20sh changes along a SOC/shift cell voltage characteristic curve. The SOC/shift cell voltage characteristic curve overlaps a shifted curve for which the SOC/standard cell voltage characteristic curve has been shifted by a predetermined amount in the horizontal axis-direction. A system control circuit 16 obtains from a memory 16m a SOC/potential difference characteristic curve representing a change in the potential difference between the standard cells 20st and the shift cell 20sh with respect to the SOC, and calculates the current potential difference between the standard cells 20st and the shift cell 20sh. In addition, the system control circuit 16 compares the calculated current potential difference and the SOC/potential difference characteristic curve, and detects a current SOC value for the standard cells 20st.
