Abstract:
This positive electrode active material is configured so as to have a lithium-containing transition metal oxide as a main component, the porosity determined from a particle cross-sectional image of the positive electrode active material being 20% or greater. The positive electrode active material has pores that are in communication from the particle surface up to the particle interior, exceeding a length correlating to 1/6 of the grain diameter. The grain diameter is the diameter of a circumscribed circle of the particle in the particle cross-sectional image of the positive electrode active material.
