Abstract:
A lidar device 100 is equipped with the following: a precipitation determination unit 29 that determines whether precipitation is present on the outer surface of a light transmission window 51, on the basis of at least one of a measurement outcome 34 indicating whether a wind velocity vector has successfully been measured and a signal-to-noise ratio 35, as well as on the basis of a movement 32 of a wiper during a first period; a foreign object detection unit 30 that, on the basis of at least one of the measurement outcome 34 and the signal-to-noise ratio 35, detects a foreign object preventing laser light and reflected light from passing through the light transmission window 51; and a wiper movement control unit 28 that controls a wiper 52 and a washing liquid supply unit 61. If the precipitation determination unit 29 determines that precipitation is present, the wiper movement control unit 28 operates the wiper 52 without operating the washing liquid supply unit 61; and if the precipitation determination unit 29 has not determined that precipitation is present, and the foreign object detection unit 30 has detected the presence of a foreign object, the wiper movement control unit 28 operates the washing liquid supply unit 61 and the wiper 52.
