Abstract:
(EN) The present invention describes a method for generating co-ordinate information on motion artifacts. The technology uses structured light techniques based on multiple projection patterns applied to three-dimensional image reconstruction steps in conjunction with data processing (shadow removal, background removal, random noise filtering and data sampling). The technology further provides a time sequence of three-dimensional data relating to the motion of an object of interest to which image capture is applied. It can be used in imaging diagnostic equipment, such as magnetic resonance equipment, besides tomographic machines for computer-assisted x-ray tomography or computer-assisted positron emission tomography, for example. The proposed method can track the patient's movements with six degrees of freedom (three rotational and three translational movements that are linearly independent) during data acquisition and provide position-tracking data over time on the basis of this information, in order to correct motion artifacts prospectively. The advantages are: elimination of fiducial markers, shortening the time and reducing the cost of imaging diagnostic procedures, besides ensuring the comfort and preserving the health of the patient, especially during procedures involving exposure to radiation.
(FR) La présente invention concerne un procédé de génération d'informations de coordonnées relatives à des artéfacts de mouvement. La technologie utilise des techniques d'éclairage structuré basées sur de multiples normes de projection, appliquées aux étapes de reconstruction tridimensionnelle d'image, associée au traitement de données (suppression d'ombres, suppression de plan de fond, filtrage de bruit aléatoire et échantillonnage de données). La technologie permet en outre d'obtenir une séquence temporelle de données tridimensionnelles relatives au mouvement d'un objet d'intérêt soumis à une capture d'images. Elle peut s'appliquer à des équipements de diagnostic par image, comme la résonance magnétique, outre des équipements de tomographie, notamment la tomographie assistée par ordinateur par rayon X ou l'émission de positrons. Le procédé proposé permet de suivre les mouvements du patient avec six degrés de liberté (trois en rotation et trois en translation, linéairement indépendants) pendant l'acquisition de données et, à partir de ces informations, de fournir des données de suivi de position au fil du du temps en vue d'une correction prospective d'artéfacts de mouvement. Les avantages sont : l'élimination de marqueurs fiduciaires, la réduction du temps et des coûts relatives aux procédures de diagnostic par image, outre le confort et la préservation de la santé du patient, notamment dans le cadre de procédures impliquant une exposition à un rayonnement.
(PT) A presente invenção descreve um método para geração de informações de coordenadas referentes a artefatos de movimento. A tecnologia utiliza técnicas de iluminação estruturada, baseadas em múltiplos padrões de projeção, aplicadas às etapas de reconstrução tridimensional de imagem, associada a tratamento de dados (remoção de sombras, remoção de plano de fundo, filtragem de ruído aleatório e amostragem de dados). A tecnologia ainda permite fornecer uma sequência temporal de dados tridimensionais referentes ao movimento de um objeto de interesse submetido à captura de imagens. Pode ser aplicada em equipamentos de diagnóstico por imagem, como ressonância magnética, além de equipamentos de tomografia, como tomografia computadorizada por raio-X ou emissão de pósitrons. O método proposto é capaz de rastrear os movimentos do paciente em seis graus de liberdade (três rotacionais e três translacionais linearmente independentes) durante a aquisição de dados e, a partir dessas informações, fornecer dados de rastreamento de posição ao longo do tempo para correção prospectiva de artefatos de movimento. As vantagens são: eliminação de marcadores fiduciais, redução de tempo e gastos referentes aos procedimentos de diagnóstico por imagem, além de conforto e preservação da saúde do paciente, sobretudo em procedimentos que envolvam exposição à radiação.
