Abstract

A method of reducing the level of RNA in a biomass comprising filamentous fungus involves the following steps: (i)heating the biomass, downstream of the fermenter to a first temperature in the range 40- 69°C; (ii)heating the biomass to a second temperature which is 6-20°C greater than the first temperature, to facilitate release of RNA from cells of the filamentous fungus; and (iii)separating filamentous fungus having a reduced level of RNA from other components. The fluid removed in step (iii) may be recirculated to a heat exchanger, which is used to heat the biomass in step (i).

La présente invention concerne un procédé de réduction du taux d'ARN dans une biomasse comprenant un champignon filamenteux comportant les étapes suivantes : (i) chauffer la biomasse, en aval du fermenteur, à une première température se situant entre 40 et 69 °C ; (ii) chauffer la biomasse à une seconde température qui est de 6 à 20 °C supérieure à la première température, en vue de faciliter la libération de l'ARN des cellules du champignon filamenteux ; et (iii) séparer un champignon filamenteux possédant un taux réduit d'ARN des autres constituants. Le fluide extrait à l'étape (iii) peut être remis en circulation vers un échangeur de chaleur, qui est utilisé pour chauffer la biomasse à l'étape (i).
