(EN)The present approach relates to the design and use of a functionally closed bioreactor designed to immobilize, culture,and mature tissue on a loading platform. The bioreactor maybe equipped with sensors for tissue monitoring which in conjunction with stiffness data can provide closed-loop control of tissue maturation. Based on a relationship between cartilage stiffness and tissue maturity, measurements of stiffness can be acquired and used as a surrogate for cartilage maturity without the need for destructive tests.
(FR)La présente invention concerne la conception et l'utilisation d'un bioréacteur fonctionnellement clos conçu de manière à immobiliser, cultiver et faire mûrir un tissu sur une plate-forme de chargement. Le bioréacteur peut être muni de capteurs pour la surveillance du tissu qui, conjointement à des données de rigidité, permettent de fournir un contrôle en boucle fermée de la maturation du tissu. Sur la base d'une relation entre la rigidité du cartilage et la maturité du tissu, des mesures de rigidité peuvent être acquises et utilisées comme substitut de la maturité du cartilage sans qu'il soit nécessaire d'effectuer des tests destructifs.
