A composite panel (2) composed of a fibre reinforced resin matrix composite material, wherein the panel (2) comprises: a panel portion (4) comprised of a first ply (24) of fibre reinforced resin matrix composite material, wherein the first ply (24) includes a first fibrous layer (26) of a plurality of nonwoven carbon fibres which are substantially randomly oriented, and a reinforcement portion (6) which is integrally moulded with the panel portion (4) and is located at a location on a surface of the panel portion (4) to provide an integrally moulded primary structural region (10) of the composite panel (2), the reinforcement portion (6) being comprised of at least one second ply (36) of fibre reinforced resin matrix composite material, the second ply (36) comprising a second fibrous layer, wherein the first ply (24) has a primary portion which is located in the primary structural region (10) and a secondary portion which is adjacent to the primary portion and is located in a secondary structural region (46) of the composite panel (2), wherein in the primary portion the first ply (24) has a first volume fraction (Vfi) of fibres in the first ply (24) which is higher than a second volume fraction (Vf2) of fibres in the first ply in the secondary portion, each volume fraction being with respect to the total volume of resin and fibres in the respective portion.

La présente invention concerne un panneau composite (2) composé d'un matériau composite à matrice de résine renforcée par des fibres, le panneau (2) comprenant : une partie panneau (4) constituée d'une première couche (24) de matériau composite à matrice de résine renforcée par des fibres, la première couche (24) comprenant une première couche fibreuse (26) constituée d'une pluralité de fibres de carbone non tissées qui sont orientées de manière sensiblement aléatoire, et une partie de renforcement (6) qui est moulée d'un seul tenant avec la partie panneau (4) et qui est située à un emplacement sur une surface de la partie de panneau (4) pour fournir une région structurale principale moulée d'un seul tenant (10) du panneau composite (2), la partie de renforcement (6) étant constituée d'au moins une seconde couche (36) de matériau composite à matrice de résine renforcée par des fibres, la seconde couche (36) comprenant une seconde couche fibreuse, la première couche (24) présentant une partie principale qui est située dans la région structurale principale (10) et une partie secondaire qui est adjacente à la partie principale et qui est située dans une région structurale secondaire (46) du panneau composite (2), dans laquelle, dans la partie principale, la première couche (24) a une première fraction de volume (Vfi) de fibres dans la première couche (24) qui est supérieure à une seconde fraction de volume (Vf2) de fibres dans la première couche dans la partie secondaire, chaque fraction de volume étant par rapport au volume total de résine et de fibres dans la partie respective.
