The present invention relates to a method for detecting acore polypeptide of a hepatitis C virus (HCV) in a sample from a subject comprising (a) contacting said sample with a surfactant comprising a cationic detergent; (b) contacting said sample with a binding com- pound; and (c) detecting a core polypeptide of said HCV in said sample; wherein step a) is immediately followed by step b). The present invention further relates to a method for pre- processing a sample from a subject for detection of an HCV core polypeptide, comprising (a) contacting said sample with a surfactant comprising a cationic detergent and, optionally, with an agent inducing a pH shift, immediately followed by (b) contacting said sample with a binding compound. Moreover, the present invention further relates to uses, devices, and analytical systems related to aforesaid methods.

La présente invention concerne un procédé de détection d'un polypeptide de noyau d'un virus de l'hépatite C (VHC) dans un échantillon prélevé d'un sujet consistant en : a) la mise en contact dudit échantillon avec un tensioactif comprenant un détergent cationique ; (b) la mise en contact dudit échantillon avec un composé de liaison ; et (c) la détection d'un polypeptide de noyau dudit VHC dans ledit échantillon ; l'étape a) étant immédiatement suivie de l'étape b). La présente invention concerne en outre un procédé de prétraitement d'un échantillon provenant d'un sujet pour la détection d'un polypeptide de noyau d'un VHC, consistant en (a) la mise en contact dudit échantillon avec un tensioactif comprenant un détergent cationique et, facultativement, avec un agent induisant un décalage de pH, immédiatement suivi par (b) la mise en contact dudit échantillon avec un composé de liaison. En outre, la présente invention concerne des utilisations, des dispositifs et des systèmes analytiques associés aux procédés mentionnés ci-dessus.
