Abstract:
(EN) According to a first aspect of the invention there is provided a system to determine orientation on a sports field. The system comprises: an electronic device comprising two or more antennas each connected to a respective transceiver and spaced apart by a predetermined distance; an antenna arrangement comprising three or more antennas, each antenna being arranged around a periphery of the sports field; and, an analytics controller configured to detect signals transmitted between each of the antennas of the electronic device and the antenna arrangement and, based on the detected signals, determine orientation of the device by evaluating the time taken for signals to travel between each of the antennas of the electronic device and the antenna arrangement, such that when the electronic device is embedded within sports equipment the orientation of the equipment can be determined.
(FR) Un premier aspect de l'invention concerne un système pour déterminer l'orientation sur un terrain de sport. Le système comprend : un dispositif électronique comprenant deux antennes ou plus connectées chacune à un émetteur-récepteur respectif et espacées d'une distance prédéterminée ; un agencement d'antenne comprenant trois antennes ou plus, chaque antenne étant agencée autour d'une périphérie du terrain de sport ; et un contrôleur analytique configuré pour détecter des signaux émis entre chacune des antennes du dispositif électronique et l'agencement d'antenne et, sur la base des signaux détectés, déterminer l'orientation du dispositif en évaluant le temps nécessaire pour que les signaux se déplacent entre chacune des antennes du dispositif électronique et l'agencement d'antenne, de telle sorte que lorsque le dispositif électronique est intégré dans un équipement sportif, l'orientation de l'équipement peut être déterminée.
