Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for gear detection in a manual shift transmission in vehicles having a friction clutch, in which method a comparison between filtered vehicle parameters with a limiting function is fed back during the starting process. In a method which protects the clutch against thermal overloading, an engaged gear is determined in the non-synchronised state of the engine rotation speed and transmission rotational speed, wherein value pairs composed of the clutch torque and vehicle acceleration are determined during the starting process and compared with the limiting function which characterises the coupling torque as a function of the vehicle acceleration and/or gradient of the underlying surface and/or weight of the vehicle.
