(EN)Disclosed are an electronic device and an operating method therefor according to embodiments. The electronic device according to one embodiment comprises: an optical module for emitting light at an object, and detecting the distance from the electronic device up to the object by using the light reflected from the object; and a processor for determining touch information and/or gesture information of the object on the basis of detected information of the distance up to the object.
