Abstract:
The technical matter of the present invention relates to an implant having a nano-patterned grooved surface and a method for manufacturing the same, the method comprising the steps of: anodizing an implant main body made of a titanium metal or a titanium alloy to form titanium oxide nanotubes; and removing the titanium oxide nanotubes to form grooves on a surface of the implant main body. Therefore, the surface of the implant main body is anodized, followed by removal of the anodized surface, to form grooves on the surface; the release of the anodized titanium oxide film in the living body due to delamination of the oxide film can be prevented; and the impurities remaining on the surface can be effectively removed. In addition, when a bio-implantable titanium or titanium alloy is used as a material for the implant main body and the implant is implanted into the living body by the grooves formed through surface anodizing, the implant has a maximized surface area and thus retains excellent biocompatibility, chemical suitability, and mechanical suitability. Furthermore, various-sized grooves, including nano-patterned grooves, can be formed by performing anodizing together with a sand blasting or sand blasted, large-grit, acid etched (SLA) technique.
